Just "finished" (although the game won't end) my first game of SofSE, excellent experience.. can't wait for the next round.
My problem, in the game I've "finished", is that I've destroyed every last ship and structure of the enemy, conquered all of their planets, etc, but the game continues on...
My "gameboard" consists of one Star, two Planets, two Asteroids, and one mess o' Space Junk.
I see two stars off in the distance that I can click on (which gives me "Star has not been explored" window pop-up), but they're not connected to my gameboard in any way. Are those stars there just for show, then, or is there a way to get over there, as that may be where the remainder of the enemy is hiding?
I don't understand why my game isn't ending.. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You can travel to other stars from the star in your system, if you have the required tech researched (long range jumps or something). There are still two full systems for you to conquer. You're not finished, you've only just begun..
You need to research Long range jump (or race equivalent) to get to that star. that is probably were the AI your opponent is at. It will come for you so dont let your guard down.

Okay, so.. I've conquered all three star systems, the one ai player doesn't have any planets left. He does still have a few ships hoppin' aroiund, though.. but no planets. Those all belong to me.
There's a HUGE pirate army, consisting of a bajillion corsairs and some other ships. Is my not having destroyed them the reason why I haven't yet seen the "Game Over/Victory" screen, yet?
Killing the pirates off is going to take some work, if it's even possible.. haha. They have one planet that belong to them, which is where that mob of ships of theirs is, also.
Too busy to play this as much as I'd like, but it's been a blast so far.. any help on the above issue would be appreciated, though.

the current version (1.17) usually gives up after the last planet dies
