counter to TEC hc rush

ive been seeing a lot of players go straight for the heavy cruiser when tec and have a bunch of hoshikos with them....i am curious as to what a good counter for a hc rush is....it seems to me that building carriers with bombers would be best, but those are expensive especially as advent.  would a massive amount of illums counter them? what about as vasari?

Illuminators currently counter Kodiaks in sufficient numbers. With Vasari and TEC, however, Bombers and your own HC are still the best way to coutner.

Basically the sooner you figure out they're going for HC the better. If you see they have 4(+) military labs they are definately going HC... even 3 military labs is a fair warning.


Advent: Repulse and mass illum. Bombers are OK if they got a marza, but if they get a Kol you'll need a lot of bombers.

Vasari: try and sneak an orkulus since they'll be skimping on fleet to get HC. That or kill their Kol with assailants, then set loose bombers.

TEC: pretty much forced to scout early and get bombers.

If you are close to them (2ish jumps) you can sometimes LRM rush them and take out labs before HC gets up, though sometimes HC rushers open with scouts.

Even the 4-lab level may only mean antimatter regeneration upgrades.  However, the fact remains that once they're at the 3-lab level it is not difficult for them to make the jump to heavy cruisers, and you should be ready to counter such a unit.

or if you are TEC you can get timed explosives on your scouts and take out his labs then lagh at him when he doenst have enough money to rebuild them.

timed explosives is proly the best way to stop him early or to cut his production. and once he rebuilds the labs blow them up agian
