Ok 1st off i did use the search feature. Found out a lot of info but not quite what i needed. So i pressed the dreaded create post. No killing me...yet.

OS: Vista 64 home basic

vid card: Nvidia 8800gts

allright hers my issue. I use a scott HDTV lct32sha for a monitor using a DVI to vga converter. I set up a custom resolution to 1366x768. I had to really dig around to force the TV to make the resolution work. Desktop and such work fine but most of my games do not see this resolution. ive updated drivers, etc etc. no difference.

so in Sins my only avail res is 1024x768. ive modified the user.setting like this

VideoFullScreenHeight 768
VideoWindowedWidth 1366
VideoWindowedHeight 768
VideoMultiSampleType 2

I set the file to read only yet every time i launch sins via the direct exe or impluse it still is set for 1024x768. I can set it for windowed mode but its not quite what i want. Id like to have a higher resolution so i can have the smaller user interface/sidebar and more details. 

any ideas on what im doing wrong? is there something im missing in the user file that i should be setting? It properly reads my name changes so i know its reading the file.

i thought about setting up the reg RGB (or ymk..sh..er yea) output instead of using the dvi/vga method but i know my resolution while boasting high numbers will not be as clear as it should be.

Next time i buy a "monitor" im going for a real one instead of this HDTV idea.
