A few questions......

Hello, I would like to ask a few questions if I may.

I will be purchasing Demigod when It Comes out In April.

 

Is demigod like world of war craft where you have to pay every month? ($8-15 dollars a month)

And Also Will Demigod Work With This Computer?

It will have a hard time, it is not really a gaming rig on today standards. Did you ever try the Supreme Commander Demo on this system? The graphics card and CPU lacks power. It surprises me that Vista runs on it.

no, that computer won't.

unfortunately the GMA945 chips don't have the necessary goods needed to for Demigod.

Sigh*........... I thought this would happen.......

I bought ETQW along time ago and never worked. >.<

So, Is there something I could Buy For this computer to play these future games? lol?

Like Graphics Carrd or like a whole new Mod Chip......

And A=If you do answer Please State where I can buy some and how much.

Unfortunately it's difficult to upgrade the video card on a laptop.  that's why if you want to play games on your laptop you need to buy one with a non-integrated VPU

Yeah, pretty much 99% of laptops don't have a seperate upgradable video chipset inside.  For the most part it's all one board on the inside, and to upgrade you'd have to replace the whole thing (at which point you may as well buy a new laptop).

Sorry for budding in, I'm a lurker for now until the game comes out but I thought I could be of some help. I'm actually a tech and I've been building computers for quite some time. I don't recommend buying a laptop for gaming, they generally don't have the power and when they do they are far more expensive than a desktop counterpart.

 

Also, heating is a huge problem with laptops. A laptop will, at this point and time, always get to a point where gaming will cause it to over heat; even when just months before it was running that very game at that very setting at the same tempature. There are ways around this of course, but for most people they end up resulting to laptop fans until eventually their laptop dies from heat damage.

 

Even if you do not want a powerhouse computer, I'd strongly suggest going for a desktop. You'll likely save yourself a lot of headaches and in the long wrong money; it's far easier and cheaper to upgrade a desktop. In most cases all you'll ever need is a new video card and -maybe- a new cpu.

Ditto.

I made the mistake of trying to buy a gaming laptop, only to realize not too long after that I would have to make a similarly large purchase to keep up with the most current games.  Although nice for portability, unless you're willing to shell out 1-2 thousand every 18 months for a new machine, I'd say go for the upgrade-ability of a desktop.

On a support side of things, here's the system reqs for Demigod:

System Requirements

  • 2.4 GHz Processor
  • 512 MB Available System Memory
  • 8 GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • 128 MB 3D Video Card (ATI Radeon X1600 / Nvidia GeForce 6800 or better)*

That's odd my 2 year old laptop was able to run crysis and gears of war.

It's not that laptops can't run games, it's that the ones that can cost an arm and a leg more than just buying/building a desktop.  And you can't upgrade them when you need to (or else upgrades cost more).
