hey all!
when i say random locations anyone who has played HOMM should know what i mean
they were random places set up across your map where your forces could visit, giving an assortment of effects to the game world from increasing your income, to giving you new spells and abilitys.
the 3 questions i put forth are:
should they be in the game?
what density (amount) would be called "fair" if they are put in
and what capabilites should they have
Personally i like them, they tend to spice things up as you explore, and generally take away the trudging of the distance between you and your opponent, however i thought in HOMM they placed them way too close together, it just took away from their presence if that "libary of power" that gives you a spell has a twin brother around the corner which your opponent has now found.
Again personally i like effects HOMM uses with it's random locations, but i do believe it has room for improvement
for example a random location that allows your channeler new abilities or spells, some possibly only available at that point making some choke points as the players channeler begins focusing a powerful spell from the site of an ancient ruin, making the player judge that risk for reward.
but thats my idea of it
