Firefox 3 Release & Stardock Site Compatibility
Jul 30, 2008 12:59

Firefox 3.0 goes final and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, June 17th.

There are currently known incompatibilities between Firefox 3 and many of our sites and forums. For the most part, the sites function properly, but have formatting issues. A specific example are the login & password fields to log into these forums. In Firefox 3, instead of both being on the same line, they are stacked vertically.

We will be addressing these visual issues in time. Please do NOT post threads on the forums pointing out Firefox 3 site issues. They will be deleted. We are aware of the problems and will work as quickly as we can to resolve them.

Until posted otherwise, the only version of Firefox our sites support at the moment is Firefox 2.

Iconpackager will not load

By Posted May 11, 2008 03:22:06
Hello.  New to the forum.  I purchased the complete suite 2 days ago and had no problems with anything in Object Desktop.  However, I now am unable to open Iconpackager from the quick launch window nor manually open it by navigating to its folder on my C: drive.  Whenever I do try to open it I get the Window Error Report window.  I click on "dont send" and the iconpackager window will automatically close.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  It happened again.  I then uninstalled, restarted, manually deleted the remaining folder left on the C: drive (Iconpackager.)  Restarted.  No remnants of the original program I could find.  Restarted quick launch utility.  Clicked on updates.  Reselected IconPackager and downloaded/reinstalled.  Restarted, same problem again.

All other elements function correctly on the quick launch.  Quick launch recognizes that the program is installed.  Initializes opening the window.  Fails.  Displays the same error reporting window again.  After a complete reinstall!  Only actions I did prior to this happening was to use the iconpackager utility to recolor an iptheme I downloaded (name was copper..something.)  Since the recolor, no dice.  Even after complete deletion and reinstall of the program...twice.

All help appreciated

Did you install it with Impulse or StardockCentral? Either program will tell you what version you installed.

Installed through Impulse. Shows version number as 3.99.148

OS is WinXP Pro

You can download StarDock Central which does the same thing as Impulse. WWW Link Make sure you uninstall Iconpackager first.

Alrighty Gents,

Un-installed iconpackager, restarted, installed stardock central. Installed iconpackager from central. Got an error that said "application path not found."

Anyway, window shows it is installed after that error window is exited. I click to open the program, I get an activation window. I input the information (e-mail, only serial number I have for Ultimate Suite) and am told "Maximum activations reached." I have not manually activated this program at all in the past. It was always automatic through impulse. I would say I have tried to re-install iconpackager 10 times since this started happening last night.

(insert Scottish accent...I Dunnot know whut ta du...end Scottish accent)

Yes there is a certain amount of times a product can be activated. I would suggest filling out a ticket with Stardock support and reference this thread. They can help you with your activations.

With the release of IconPackager 4.0 I am closing this thread to redirect all support posts over to the new support thread.
