Regarding the April 2/08 game with GE

The game minidumped and autosave and autoreplay didn't save ANYTHING for anybody. This has never happened to us before.

SO, here's where we were standing at the time of the minidump
HuntingX had 10 phase and had a maxed fleet up to the 5th fleet. TEN PHASE GATES. He was maxed with enforcers, sentinels, and carriers. Obviously, he was number 1 in fleet. He was in the midst of assaulting their planets.
Astax had 15 kodiaks and some lrms and whatnot
Jinx had a small army at the time as it just got killed (something like 20 lrms and some light frigates). I lost a Kol but had rebuilt it and was sending it back out.

The GE players in TOTAL had
~50 LRMs
~30 Flak frigates
~10 carriers
~10 scouts
They also lost 2/3 of their cap ships (all akkans)

None of the players had lost their homeworld or asteroid yet. We were contesting their border worlds.

After the game, they said that their "winning" strategy was to fly their scouts into Hunting's planets and bomb all his research facilities and phase gates. Keep in mind that scouts have something like a five minute cooldown to bomb anything and that Hunting could easily rebuild the labs (once you have RA, your economy isn't used for anything other than building structures, colonizing planets, and research - you don't need to build ships anymore)! Plus the gates don't stop when the labs are gone.

Despite that, they think they won. They think their small fleet and scouts would be enough to not only stop Hunting's RA fleet, but kill his labs and gates as well. Furthermore, they now refuse to play us a rematch because we were apparently too aggressive in asking for a rematch right away (how would you feel if you were about to win and the game crashes? Would you not want an immediate rematch if they don't accept that you won?)

You can decide who would have won.

Scouts, huh? The scout explosives cool down is actually 10+ minutes, I'm pretty sure....and they have to sit there for a while to place the explosives, which usually involves some of them getting chewed up. I find you need a lot of extra scouts to succeed. It is a pretty good tactic when you catch an RA in infancy...but kind of difficult to completely shut down a larger infrastructure, unless it is completely undefended -- and that could still call for 100 scouts to get the phase gates and enough labs to stop more from being built. I'm sure you guys were dead.

scouts are nice for rushing in and taking out their super expensive structure like novaliths... not so effective against RA because once you get your gates up, you have oodles of cash. I forgot to mention that HuntingX also had colonized the most planets so he really did have oodles of cash.

Yes we are a nice teddy bear hugs and kisses clan.

We mainly sit around and circle jerk to how great GE is. I know for a fact one of our members stalks GE like a pathetic groupie fangirl.

Primarily, we spend our time doing 3v3 comp stomps on easy difficulty huge maps. First we all build Akkans, then we build trade ports and LRMs, add flaks, and hope that the computer resigns. When it fails to resign, we ragequit or minidump the AI. It's hard to minidump AI but it's doable. Just takes lots of self-delusion and practice.

And if you join X, you will be expected to practice. Flaming doesn't come naturally to all people. Like all skills, it must be honed to a Razor's Edge (GET IT???? ROFL ROFL I'M SO AWESOME).

Finally, I would like to conclude that Jinx is actually a 35 year old trannie. He spends most of his jacking off to men, and the rest of his time jacking off to women who look like men. It's a great life, but it's not for me. Jinx, we all wish you the best.

April 2/08 - X vs GE
no replay or save - game crashed near end

If the game wasn't over, nobody won.

I wasn't in the game, but I was listening to them on Ventrilo. I beg to differ, ThirdProphecy, but HuntingX did have 9-10 phase gates at the time of the crash . I heard him saying that before the crash happened.

You can beg all you want, but the point is, I was on the way to his planets, had the #1 fleet, and was already taking out phase gates. So if he had "9-10" (which is ridiculous, it would have required massive conomy from the TEC players and them feeding him resources, game lasted what 40 minutes? I'll add up the numbers later, but thats an insane amount of planet upgrades, research, imperial labs which we had destroyed, and stabilizer gates, and since we were all 3 1,2,and 3 in economy and credits... this is a lie) the fact is I had #1 fleet and was already going to wipe him out. Purple had lost his fleet at my ice planet, and HuntingX had sent his fleet there as well, they were both destroyed.

All you have is MY word, and HUNTINGX's word. Let the people decide. Fact is, you'll either play us again and have a replay as proof, or you'll play us again and have another minidump. If you refuse to play us again, then I think we know who really would have won that game

BTW, if I spent a week preparing and practicing on a map, I'd probably be desperate... which it seems HuntingX was. When I came to him and explained that we couldnt have our best players at the match, he exploded saying that 'we practiced for this match all week!' Then proceeded to bash GE, how we're unorganized, how we're dumb, etc. Over 1 misunderstanding from our clan leader If he wants to play the BEST of GE, then he should be able to wait until we're all online.

There was a decent battle going on, I remember seeing about 3-4enforcers, 2-3 transporters, 5-6 assailiants, 2-3skirms, not some uber fleet. 3proph had just gotten 1st fleet right before the dump, I remember him saying, "alright guys, I got number 1 now, we gotta get those gates" I know for a fact we were 1,2 and 3 in col, and eco. I think i was 4th in fleet, being probablly, Hunting hit second, astax 3, me 4, and jinx or whoever who just got wiped by 3proph, was eitehr 5or6. I had a quarter of my fleet at his astroid taking out the 1 gate that was there, with our 3rd player placing his 17 timed explosives on the 1 in his home world. I recall scouting Astax nonestop, with his planet and his astriod, he was poo for income, and only had 11, maybe 12 Heavys, I had 15carrier/bombers rdy to keep them busy while I sent my othr 41 LRMS around the backside of HUntingx to split his force and help take out more gates.

The game could have gone either way, with our strong eco, and extensive colonization, we could overcome what you guys had created. IMO that is. Its hard to tell, RA is a very strong ability, but with the right tactics its easily overcome, expecially if no one has a decent eco. and you DONT have an eco with RA, unless you estabilished one prior to increasing fleet capacity. you slowly get credits, and you had home, say 15crd/s, astriod, maybe 2 crd/s, and an ice planet, so maybe 20-25ish crd/sec max, but with paying 1500 credits per gate, and not to mention the extensive research cost, plus the huge penatly of lvl 5 fleet supply, you maybe were getting 15crd/sec. And you had just gotten RA maybe 5-10minutes before dump, because not a single one of you went eco, so if you really did have 10 gates, then all three players were pitching in and placed all your eggs in that one basket.

But either way, it was a tight match, that kept us on our toes. I remember when Astax jumped in and had like 21 LRMs to my like 7 at first in early game, I had two frig factories so I pumped 20 Flak and quickly turned the 21 (with more coming every sec) into about 12, and then the rest of them fleed towards 3proph and I sent Half of my flak (22 at that time) to follow with backup, since 3proph was ingaged with jinx at that time.

It was a nice game, and I definetly look forward to playing again. As long as we dont have any spam or flame messages against anyone without reason, there should be no sense in anyone hating on anyone in this community. ICO deserves better.
This company is putting alot into this product, instead of just dumping it on the shelves, and are still supporting this game like crazy, I understand competitiveness, and enjoy it, but still we are a community at whole here and its our job to be positively competitive, not negative. We are here to attract more players to the community, not scare them off from hateful messages.

Whats harder to believe is that I recently deleted all save game files and all records because my windows partition is only 20GB (im a macbp user) because I had to make room for the witcher and the adobeillustrater etc for modding it. (www.witchermod.com)!

I didnt think to load the save game with all the AIs because whether or not they had 10 phase gates wasnt a question at the time, and considering we had the top 3 economy and it would have been far fetched for US to have funded that, I can safely say that he did not.

Both TEC players had fleets, so they were therefor not feeing HuntingX ALL of their resources, and since WE couldn't have paid for RA and 10 phase gates and planet upgrades and fleet upgrades even had we not built fleets... It's hard for me to believe.

I'm done arguing on the matter, tho. If they say they had 10 phase gates, so be it. They would have been reduced to 4 phase gates in a matter of 2 minutes, and the remaining would have been destroyed a minute or two later.

12 Kodiaks = cake, purple had no fleet as I had destroyed it (or if he did, it was whatever managed to flee my planet) and for HuntingX having 'the largest fleet 5 cap upgraded' I NEVER saw it. I saw a large fleet at my ice planet which I destroyed... but I saw nothing else. Even after spamming LRMs and Flaks to his planets to destroy his stabes.

But like I said, I'm done arguing. Either X can play us again, or X can claim victory to deaf ears. We'll also make sure to have our best 3 players at this rematch, and we'll make sure its the same map and settings. And we'll make sure to save frequently so something like this doesn't happen again. And, win or lose, we'll make sure the record gets posted so that people have some hard evidence.

Same map and rules, so if HuntingX sees fit to 'allow' you on his team, I hope so

As for the deleting, you cannot blame me for the minidump and autosaves being missing, and I deleted the entire ironclad folder in the documents and settings. This was to delete all screenshots, saves, records, etc, without me having to individually go to each folder.

And I'll check my external hard drive at home when I get there in case it's on one of my backups.

We'll play again, no worries.

it will help it what is useful against what.try mixing up your fleet, a strong diverse fleet can almost alway defeat a mass spam of the same thing, definetly in the hands of someone who knows how to play really well. But excellent game, minus the flaming, ill definetly look forward to the rematch gentlemen.
