I've started to get into multiplayer, and I'm really enjoying it. However, I've only managed to finish one game out of 3, meaning I doubt I'll venture back into multiplayer until I have a solution, which saddens me, as sins is an awesome game.
In the other two, I've gotten a little into the game (I say a little, maybe 30mins, 60mins...ish... wasn't counting.) when suddenly the network screen pops up and claims that me and my opponent(s) are migrating, and gives me buttons telling me that I could "drop" myself or others. Last time I checked, I didn't have wings, so I was confused as to what this meant, not being a tech enthusiast myself.
The first time I left it for... well, for about an hour, doing other things. But when I came back, nothing had changed. I was mildly dissappointed - while I had no chance of winning, it happened just as I was making a famous last stand, and I was damn well sure I was gonna take out his ships while I could - I'd already taken a capital down.
The second time, I immediately clicked drop, trying on both of us. But yet again, nothing happened. This time I was infuriated - I had a very large chance of victory.
So, whats happened? Is this "migrating" the dreaded minidump I have heard so much about? I don't seem to have gotten any error messages and my game window didn't close - my ships and research just stopped (I seemed to be able to move the focus of the game around though). But if it isn't the dreaded minidump, have I got some sort of cursed router? Is it because I'm playing off a computer in england against people who are (probably) in America? Or has my computer simply decided I'm not getting enough exercise and is gently prompting me to go outside and stretch my wings?
Figuratively, of course.
