I'm usually fairly careful about saving my game manually as I go but for some reason I didn't bother tonight and decided to just rely on the auto saves. As luck would have it I got distracted by something and forgot to pause (yep - one of those nights) and came back to find myself getting heavily stomped on.

No bother, I think, I'll just nip back to an autossave: but there weren't any from tonight!
All auto-saves were for a couple of days ago (the last game I played).

Of course, in keeping with all that's gone before tonight, I didn't notice until after I loaded in the most recent auto-save and it was the wrong map and my game was completely gone.

Auto-save is ON on the save settings, so why are there no auto-saves?

The only thought I have had, and I can't find any confirmation here or in the manual, is that maybe the auto-saves only kick in once you save a game for the first time.

It was shaping up to be a good game too.
