Interesting replay. "FrogHuntingBoyFanX" does indeed have a relatively miserable start - Kruelgor has 2 asteroids colonised before FHBFX gets his first. FHBFX goes to considerable effort to gain intelligence upon the enemy, observes, then reacts with an appropriate counter strategy. Well played.

It's a bit ridiculous for Kruelgor to argue about fleet sizes. For almost all of the game, Kruelgor had a far superior fleet - he just chose not to use it when he had the advantage. Compromising growth for military strength and then sitting about not using your military doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Constructive criticism for Kruelgor:

* use your strengths & exploit the enemy's weakness - to know the enemy's weakness you need to observe them. scout?

* perhaps build those `scouting disciples' before building that colony ship

Anyhow, it's good to finally have some verifiable evidence on the table to support (or otherwise) all these wild claims. Money where your mouth is, scientific method, that sort of thing.

Let me draw you a picture. BUILD A FRIKIN SCOUT, go to his homeworld, see what he is building. If he is making LRMs, then you make defense vessel. No drawing board required, just IQ over 50.

I'll add a bit to this. conversely, if you see he has tradeports up and no military, take your ships and go directly to his homeworld. It is the only way to beat a boomer. You must take him out before his huge investment in early eco takes root.

If you watch the game, it was not one of ship spam vs ship spam. It was one of eco boomer vs defensive anti-rusher. A strategy of pumping a ton of low level ships, like you used, must be combined with effective scouting. If no rush coming, you must rush with your ships since you tanked your eco on all ships.

Unlike a lot of people here I'm not ragging on you, but you must learn to scout. Especially when you risk going all military or all economy in the early game. In either case, you must know what your enemy is doing or risk being rolled

It's nice to finally see a field demonstration. Kruelgor could have won that had he rushed with his 30+ Disciple force before HuntingX even had a sizable force. A scout would have weeded out HuntingX as the economist of this round. But, as it stands, even though his colonization went quickly. I would say his lack of Intel on the opposing force held him back. Another level of difference was in the research, HuntingX had fully upgraded his Tier 1 Ship Armor and Ship Health, Kruelgor didn't even touch those. That's a survivability boost right from the get go.

Evidently once he lost his Cap, the battle was done with. I especially like the "My wife is cutting the internet" exit. I don't know about you guys, but when my gf nags when I'm in the middle of a game, I don't exactly jump to my feet.

I'd also like to note the irony in Kruelgor's comment about How 'HuntingX' clearly new his strategy before the match even started. Man, you wrote detailed threads on both your colonizing strategy and LRM counter explaining exactly what you do, and share this with the players online. (from what I gather) If you ask me, quite a few people would know your strategy before you even started the match. Your name is branded on those strategies.

Anyways, GG to you both. It was an entertaining record to watch.

Now that it's been proven that Kruelgor's strategy doesn't work, please let this thread die.
He's been a fairly successful troll considering that this post reached 7 pages, and I understand the utility of refuting his point, but bumping this post continually back to the top is only going to propagate his strategies when newbies look over the forums, scan the post and see "disciple spam."

Now that successful troll has been proven wrong, it'd be best to marginalize him by ignoring him.

You know, now that you've convinced everyone that you've got a hard on for Disciple spam, a good strategy might be to play the game differently.

It might work against other players, but no one strategy is going to work against any given person, especially if they micro the battles. If you really are legitimately looking for other strategies, you might go and start a new thread, because the only thing that this one has really accomplished is teaching newbies bad habits.

Just as long as Huntingx is not playing the TEC LRM fleet. That boy is good.

In fact, I'm willing to bet that 95% of the people reading this thread cannot defeat Huntingx. I'm just basing this on his 41 wins and 3 loss record.

I'm pretty sure he has two computers hooked up to SINS online because he and his smurf name (FrogBoyFan) were chatting to me at the same time. I would definitely advise not to play against him in a game with more than 2 players since he has the means to play on both sides and spy.

I couldn't quite remember exactly what it was, but hell 70-1 that's even better. You have a lot of experience. You're good.

As for these people who keep saying there are "plenty of good Advent strategies vs LRM Spamming" then I would like you to challenge Huntingx and see what you can do. Good luck!
