My factories never stop producing ships. Eventually, depending on the size of the map, I will have 3 frigate factories continuously pumping out ships. It's a non-stop production process. LRMs require crystal and the Disciples do not. The disciples also cost less in credits and metal. It's a no-brainer.Supply? You're talking about crew? Hell, I've already upgraded my available crew three times before the LRM player upgrades once.Of course, I'm only producing disciples for maybe the first hour at most. Thereafter, I'm producing more advanced ships.
Funny, I never got the idea that Advent were very good at having an economy, unlike the TEC. And while you upgrade your fleet capacity to spam those Disciples, you dip your economy even further down the drain. You said it yourself... you need to maintain an almost 2:1 ratio,
even though they have the same supply cost, and this is where it ultimately fails.
Also, in order to spam Disciple vessels without ever stopping (not taking into account upgrades/research/etc), it requires at least an income of 13.89credits/sec and 2.22metal/sec - to break even, and that's at the first level of fleet capacity (no upkeep). It gets worse the bigger your fleet is. Sure, they don't cost any crystal, but that's about the only beneficial thing going for it. And the shield levels, lest I forget.
You criticize other players building trade ports to boost income, yet you boast about increasing fleet size early on, which lowers income? An interesting theory to say the least.
