What does Microphasing Aura actually do?

I mean, the description says it teleports strike craft around, and I've watched it do just that. However, my strike craft still get shot up relatively quickly, and there's no indication whatsoever about what advantages come from upgrading the ability. So, does anyone know exactly what the ability does, and what the point is of upgrading it past level 1?

I'm kinda guessing, but I think the basic idea is that it lets your fighters close with their targets faster, while taking less damage.

I can't remember what the power description says, but I don't recall it being unclear on the benefits of upgrading.

The descriptions for levels 1, 2, and 3 of the ability are identical. There is no range increase, and range is the only numeric factor listed on the ability's description.

If I'm reading the file right:
level 1: 20% chance to phase 1 second every 4 seconds
level 2: 30% chance to phase 1 second every 4 seconds
level 3: 30% chance to phase 1 second every 3 seconds.

If that makes no sense to you, try:

level 1: invincible 5% of the time.
level 2: invincible 7.5% of the time
level 3: invincible 10% of the time

They teleport a distance of 750 towards their targets (if the files are right) as well.

If I'm reading the file right:
level 1: 20% chance to phase 1 second every 4 seconds
level 2: 30% chance to phase 1 second every 4 seconds

If the Microphasing Aura at, say Level 3, has a 30% chance to 'phase' 1 second every 3 seconds, doesn't that mean that 1 second is also cut off the approach time? So a 13.5 second approach for bombers would be cut down to 9.5 seconds if all the phases work, and 12.5 seconds if only 1 phase works. The . Combine this with the 750 teleportation and the Antorak's speed-booster ability, and Vasari strikecraft should be able to make really quick strike runs.

Yea, my reading of it was not only does it make them able to avoid being hit... it also speeds up attacks, causing more damage.

Doesn't the ability have a rather limited range? Since the strike craft usually take off towards the enemy leaving the cap ship way behind I haven't found this ability all that usefull, I may be using them in the wrong way though. Anyone think it's worth taking this skill over the others?

For what it may be worth, I've actually taken it rather than scramble bombers simply so it'd have more antimatter to use on the repair cloud.

The 13.5 seconds for bombers is actually the time it takes weapons to recharge. If the bombers are out of position when their weapons recharge and get phase, it'll speed up their attacks, yes.

It would still help interceptor fighters since they would be able to dodge shots and get into firing position faster. Combined with the hull-repair cloud, Vasari fighters would get a significant edge in fighter-vs-fighter dogfights.
