No games in the player window on ICO

Hi first let me say im really enjoying SoSE top game, well done to IC and SD (and beta testers).

Sorry if this question has already been covered however here it goes.

Im in Australia that may be the problem as I did see a post a few days ago saying ICO does not work in Aust but I was unable to find the symptoms of the problem in the post string so I am none the wiser for that post im afraid.

My issue is, I seem to be able to log onto ICO but I can see no games at all. I say, "I seem to be able to login" because if I type in an incorrect password the system flags that, so I am thinking that my game is in contact with the server at some level.

However once I have entered my password and hit login the window in which I should be seeing all the current running games listed is empty.(hope this is not just a time zone thing then I'd look real dumb, stupid 14hrs )

I have read Monks posts and followed them as best I can, ports 6112 and 6000 are forwarded in my firewall and SoSE is in the allowed list. My router has never caused me any trouble in the past so I am not sure why it would pick on SoSE to play up and I am somewhat nervous about messing around with the router client as I really have no idea what I am doing.

So there is my problem, what do you reckon?

Are you sure you are looking at the list of games. I was a bit thrown when i logged in also. First of all, I clicked Multiplayer which is actually for LAN. Hehe! Sounds like you avoided that one. But once you enter your username and password in the ICO login you don't go right to the games list - you have a list of different player names (empty until you create some) that you select from before you proceed to the list of live games. While it seems clear now, when I first logged in I was confused for a few moments.

Finally, if you also didn't make that mistake - make sure you are clicking the join game button once you make it to the lobby section. That will call up the list of active matches.

If its none of those things, sorry for sounding like a tech support asking if you made sure your computer was plugged in

I just figured if I was thrown for second they might be where your problem is since you seem confident about your networking.

Yea, I was a bit dumbfounded at first by the multiplayer setup too.

I clicked multiplayer and saw only lan and an IP box, I thought "oh no, there's no game browsing???"

Then after going in ICO I thought that THAT was simply some type of "buddy list" where it said "add player" I assumed it meant add a player to your buddy list or something.

So I was terribly disappointed and thought that you had to manually enter in an IP on the multiplayer screen to play a mulitplayer game, but then after reading the forums and seeing that thee was an MP browser I checked things out again, to make sure I wasn't blind/stupid.

Then I entered into the ICO part again and at "Add player" just put in a random name...then bam, I'm in chat/browsing multiplayer games. I felt REALLY REALLY Stupid after that.

I do think it might confuse some other people as well, I don't see why they didn't simply put the mulitplayer in the...multiplayer tab and have a simple selection of "internet/lan" like almost all major games do for their MP menu's/navigation.

Ah not only do you have to log in but you then have to add yourself to the player list seems a bit redundant but it works, thanks for the answer and I would not feel stupid about not getting it, the system is less than intuitive

Now once I think i have 1/2 a chance of playing a good game I can go online and give it a go, thanks again and happy gaming.
