My graphx card

Is this graphics card good for this game?

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE TurboCache(TM)
with 256mb display memory.

eh...

not really... pray for the lowest possible settings at like 1024x768

min requirements are a 6600 series i believe...

It shuold be fine. I play it on an ATI 9800 Pro and it's fine.

Just don't join a bunch of big multiplayer games with lots of players. The game will play at the speed of the slowest system in multiplayer.

:/ dag, the rest of my computer blows the other requirements out of the water 3Ghz duel core, 2Mb ram... i didnt know that video card wasnt very good. I dont know much about this stuff, but how much would a video card like that affect gameplay on any game not just this one, and how much would it cost to get a decent card?

9800 Pro was a beast of a card back in the day, 6200SE was never a beast more like a neutered kitten..

Video card prices are dropping all the time. You can get a suitable graphics card for $100-120 dollars and great card for around $180. Judging by the card you have the only problem would be if you have only agp slots otherwise you are fine and can get a decent card. Compared to the rest of your computer your graphics card is like a shack compared to a mansion.

Top card is AGP, bottom card is PCI-E its the connector difference.

ya, i have a 6200 in my comp to.... bought a 7600gt(agp) for only about $130 on walmart's site
it will be arriving either tuesday or wednesday.... im hoping tues for obvious reasons
on a 7600gt it should run like butter in a microwave

btw, make sure u get the right version... pci-e wont work on an agp motherboard and vice versa...

PCI-E is faster, and very few if any recent cards have been made in AGP models... AGP's been pretty much discontinued except for the low-end cards in Walmart, Best Buy, etc.

AGP is outdated. There is a large performance difference between AGP and PCI-E, because PCI-E has a much larger bandwidth available to it (same reason AGP is better than regular PCI)

I've got an ATI x800 GTO with 256 megs but it's AGP.
At least I've got 2 gigs of RAM.

Really, if you have an AGP slot you might considering upgrading your motherboard. That way you could spend some money on a good graphics card. That is the only thing holding you back considering you have a dual core processor and 2Gb of ram. Then you will have a PCI express slot to get a newer graphics card.

A motherboard with a Intel or AMD dual core socket that has an agp only graphics card slot? wierd!

Now that I think about it, that is a bit odd. I looked around and I think his model is the PCI express version and not the AGP version. On nvidia's site

On the table it shows a 6200 turbocache as PCIe. I think that is the correct model.

@Panefuldeath: download CPU-Z http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-143.zip and extract it to your desktop. now run cpuz.exe (the one with the CPU icon). Then go to the mainboard tab and look at the bottom in graphics interface. That will tell you the slot you have.

I checked around NewEgg and there only appears to be one motherboard with Core 2 Duo compatibility and have an AGP slot. Why you would buy it, I dont know but they do exist for some reason.

I have one last question, ive been looking around on the net and i see i can get either somthing thats Geforce 8800 with 256mb or Geforce 8600 with 512mb for the same price of about $130. Im thinking that the one with 512mb would be a better buy? and what would the difference be?

The 8800 is the better card. Actually its a VERY good card. 8600 is not that great of a card so go with the 8800. The one thing you need to make sure is that it will fit in your case. Its about 9 inches long or so, so you will need room for it to fit. Failing that, the ATI 3870/3850 (I think) Is a great card as well.
