One thing that's kind of confusing is the fact that these "special" weapons are weaker than the top weapon in that class
yes, but it takes much less time to research them - that's the real key of their advantage.
Alright!! I'm on board with that now.... wow... I haven't been picking the "Good/Neutral/Good" tech until LATE in the game... LOL
I just recently figured out that when I go Evil, the costs for upgrading startbases is negated - wish I knew that sooner (doh!).
But NOW, I've got another reason to go that route early on - thks for the info, guys!!!
I think I'm gonna play Yor for a while before trying another race.
The races I've been putting in my games:
Thalans - Sub Normal AI
Judicators (custom military bent race) - Beginner AI
Drath - Bright AI
Iconians - Normal AI
another custom race (forgot their name, lol, they're also bent on war) - Normal AI
and 5 Minors
seems to be a great mix up so far on Large map
bout to start a new game soon on a Med - I wanna try to go Trade Route for once and see how long I can hold off any conflict in the galaxy.
I'm also gonna try this Espionage business immediately before I invade anyones planets... and for once, I'll try to not wait until I get Shock Troops before I start invading... it just worries me that I'll be wasting Transport ships unless I've got the best soldiering in the game.
