separate campaigns at once?

I'm new here. I saw this game is the top PC game released in the last 6 months, on gamerankings.com. I called the local store and they have one copy of GalCiv II Gold edition (incl DA) left, so I'm picking it up today after work.

Before I buy it, I have a question, and I haven't found the answer after looking at screenshots and reading stuff online yet.

With my ONE copy of the game installed on my PC, is it possible to share the game with my roommate? Can I have my campaign saved and keep coming back to it when I can play, and he can also have his own campaign to play, so that between the two of us, we're able to take turns using the computer without doing anything to impact each others games? Like different campaigns or games to choose to load upon starting up GalCiv.. something like that.

I hope my question was clear, thanks for any answers. I just don't want to buy the game without knowing this answer first.

The game's settings, saves, etc are stored under the My Documents folder, so if you use separate accounts on the computer, it should keep everything independently. If you both use the same user account on the computer though, you'll need to keep saved games as the 'resume campaign' option only applies to the most recently played mission, IIRC.
