How does the defense work? I understand the square root thing. But if the comp has 200 missle defense, would 600 missle attack be equal to 400 + (whatever square root of 200 is) mass driver or beam weapon attack?

Another thing I'm concerned about is the defense bug. Cause I've tried two different instances of making 3 or 4 ships with all attack power and changing it so the ships had atleast 10 defense in armor and missle defense.

I already had a fleet of 3 to 4 ships I added them together so I had 7 or 8 ships (mixture of mostly small and medium, maybe 1 large) and attacked an enemy fleet of 6 ships and with the all attack fleet only 1 medium survived. When I reloaded it and did it with the ships that had some defense I believe 2 or 3 ships survived. So it was quite confusing.

Another thing is I've had 2 dreadnaughts one with missle weapons and other with mass drivers. The one with missle weapons had half its hp and I had them attack 1 troop transport with 191 missle attack and it killed the half hp dreadnaught. I was sick after that.

yeah but thats like impossible with the miniaturization bonuses the comp has I think.
But it would be nice though.

I only have patch 1.5, I think there is like a 1.5x or something. I haven't gotten that yet.

Yeah I'm hoping someone can explain it too. Also would like to know what the defense bug is.
