Bought DA a couple weeks ago. Haven't played GCII in a while, but I was enjoying playing again.
Upgraded my computer a few days ago and bought a GeForce 8800 GTS. Loaded the drivers that came with the card. Version 9792.
DA ran fine, if a bit slow, on my old computer. Because my old computer was so old, I needed a new motherboard. That meant a new processor, video card, hard drive, and RAM.
I reinstalled Windows and redownloaded GCII and DA. I love the download any time system, by the way.
Dread Lords has no problems. I can crank the resolution to 1600x1200 at 8x AA. Hooray!! Well, I could do that with my old computer, but it was quite slow with any amount of stuff on the screen.
Problem now with Dark Avatar is massively jittery 3D graphics. Initially, what is noticeable is that anything that rotates does so at incredible speeds. Also, zooming in and out with the scroll wheel is jittery.
The effect occurs at the two resolutions I checked - 1600x1200 and 1280x960. And either of the two graphics settings I chose - Best and Low.
Also, and this I can work around, the game freezes and I have to reboot if the game resolution is set to a different resolution than my desktop.
I noticed people complaining about choppy video, but this seems to be the opposite of choppy. The graphics are going waaaaaaaayyyyy too fast.
