Background Fog of War

I have recently downloaded Dark Avatar, and on all of my new game maps, I suffer a sort of fog of war in the Top Left and Top Right edges of the map, extending for 3 sectors. My ships will reveal planets, asteroids, stars, anomalies and the likes, but the fog of war remains there in the background, and it is annoying not to be able to see the background.

Yes, this is known bug. Supposedly it has already been fixed, we're just waiting for Stardock to get around to posting it so we can actually play our games again.

based on what i've read, this bug only affects the largest map size setting. i've played on huge with no fog of war bugs. if you're brave enough to stomach a slightly smaller galaxy, you should be able to play fine until they release the patch.

Ah, that would explain why I haven't encountered this bug. I heard somewhere that the AI is specifically designed (not sure how) for the second largest (Large?) size map, so I always play on that now.

That's not an option for me, I already find Gigantic to be too small. Especially with 9 races. I'd have to go down to 4 opponents to get the same race/sector ratio as what I've gotten used to. Which is not enough IMO.

I agree with ExtremeDesigner. I have encountered this "bug" too. Maybe 50% or more of the gigantic-sized maps generated have fog of war that doesn't disappear after having been explored. It's extremely annoying, and it makes gigantic-sized maps almost unplayable. I haven't tried smaller maps, but perhaps I will do so until an update is posted.

Stardock - This is a major bug; please make fixing this bug a high priority!!!

Wow, I must be a wimp. I usually play Tiny or Small, 3-5 opponents with rare habitible planets. It's kinda slow on my computer sometimes, so I try not to get too big.

Just out of curiosity, would this bug affect one of the custom maps that can be selected? I only ask because well, I seem to remember that one of them is quite big.
