Since I got the game, I was playing more on the randomized galaxy map and/or with customized civ... I stopped playing the Dread Lord campaign long time ago because I find randomized map/customized civ game to be more interesting. Now I'm used to the flow of the single player random map, I've started playing the Dread Lords Campaign again from the very start to change the game experience, back to the epic-story, missions based gaming the way it was intended by the devs.
There are already lots of Campaign Dread Lords threads here, and I don't want to read the spoilers. I want to solve the problems on my own, if I can, first. So I started this thread. So far so good, I am now in mission 3.
I just have simple question, how many missions are there in total in the Dread Lords Campaign? I plan to finish them all before I buy and play the Dark Avatar, I want to have a solid background story and full gameplay experience on GalCiv2 Dread Lords before moving on to the sequel: Dark Avatar, to fully appreciate the game and purchase.
on the side, on mission 1, my civ was building up momentum, and my fleet building up steam at my starport when suddenly, without warning, the Drengin surrendered to the Altarian, which gave me the 'victory' screen. That was so abrupt!
I was hoping that I either capture the Drengin myself, or it surrender to me... nevertheless, it means proceed to mission 2, and I sort of like that surprise element.
