using mods in 1.2

Ok maybe i'm being dumb, I've followed the instructions to play the sample mod in 1.2, but no joy nothing changes? Tech trees the same everythings the same. I have use mods ticked I have the sample mod selected how do I get it to play.

Also this is rather embarassing as i've been playing a while, How the hell do i set a rally point?

Not tried the mods bit yet... Setting a rally point is an icon on the bottom left of the map on the top of the framework. IIRC it is a sort of down arrow. It is kinda hidden as it is sort of an icon in relief on the framework rather than a big button.

You have to restart the game before the new mod starts working. Also, it will only affect new games that you start playing, and if you have customised your races you may need to hit clear to restore the new defaults.
