I hope it is not finished because if it is it makes no sense. Let's take a look at the top 3:
1st place : agreed, suicide, great scores, gigantic galaxy, conquest victory (hardest way to win)
2nd place : makes no sense at all "EvilLcLoNe" has one game completed with a low score. 10971 on normal setting and it took 33 years (not good shows that he hit the end turn olot or was not dominant)
3rd place: has played 1 game at suicide and had a political win which if you setup everyone to start close to you is an easy victory condition. The rest of his games are on beginner or normal again not has challenging as the higher level of difficulties. However, just the pure number of games and the variety of victory conditions could place him high.

What is the criteria? I can argue that the number of games 3rd place has makes him there and first place is the best at all criteria. How come second is there. I have for instance, 2 games registered and will soon submit my gigantic suicide game. The 2 I have our:
1 painful, large galaxy, conquest, score 21000
1 masochistic, gigantic, conquest, score 62500

I have 2 games not 1. Both games score higher at more difficult settings. The only difference I can tell is that his game was longer but I thought that was a sign of a bad game as it means you did not dominate or you hit end turn to try to build up your score.

Don't game me wrong I like that they are recalculating just want it to make sense.

Apparently the games played with Beta-1 and Beta-2 haven't been recalculated. At least there are still some really strange points. E.g. this player: http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=player&id=185

To JT Qwerk : This is strange. I finished 3 games in a total of 1/2 an hour and posted them . They were all labelled as cheats. How come yours aren't being labelled. They removed my cheat flagged games. I guess you are not finishing them quite quick enough to be labelled a cheater. I know the strategy you are using as do many other competant players. Also, you should try to beat the game at the harder levels before you give advice to players that are consistently posting conquest victories at the suicidal level.

Ouch! I dropped from position 207 to 458, and the game is a lot harder now on challenging. How discouraging. Doesn't seem worth the effort to submit to the metaverse any longer. Guess I will just try to play on an easier setting for my own enjoyment and not submit them.

Your statement is unfair. Someone will exploit the scoring system anyway, so it is much better to have people doing it who will inform the developers and/or post about it publicly for everyone to understand.
If nothing is done about it then, it's not their fault at all.

i like to submit games to the metaverse, not to compete, but to track my own game history. win lose i dont care, but its nice to know the games i play are recorded somehow and add up to an overall performance.

Would you care to explain.... Just How I'm determined to ruin the metaverse

if you ask me (which you havn't) I want a fair and square scoring platform for all .. Including those who want tp play the game to its fullest (not just hitting end turn but like i do) ..

This bug report is to stop just as cheesy tactic as pressing end turn to get your scores up..

There is a bug in the scoring of the game in that when someone completes the game (it doesn't really matter how...) in LESS than 52 turns..

eg: lets say like in my case i can end a game in 16 turns.. thats 0.0625 of a year... so in their equation of calculating the final score which i believe is Total endgame score / sqr root of the years taken to play

because the years taken to play is 0.0625 is les than 1 .. thte sqr root of 0.0625 is 0.25 so there for its dividing by 0.25
(which in reality is multiplying your final score by 4 ..

So if you can tell me that pointing this out is detrimental to the game then so be it... I shall sease and decist.. and will then proceede to flood the metaverse with these scores.... like lots of others could and will do...
just like pressing end of turn this bug needs to be fixed to be fair to all ..

and if the metaverse keeps up this picking on me for stating my opinion i shall leave the bloody game for good and so will many other dediocated players who have been playing GC1 and 2 now for a long long time.... and leave it up to you video game junkies where quicker is better and requires the highest scores.. which is a load of bull... its not how GC works.. if thats what you want then go and play another game....

and stop harasing people like me who arte trying to make the game fairer for all.


Thanks Evil Roy... but as i've stated i've already been chatting online aparently to the guy who can do something about this.. straight after the the new scoring system kicked in.. and it STILL hasn't been fixed.. I've explained ewverything in detail as i have just done again above... he said he'd look into it.... this was over a month ago nopw and at least 1beta and the final release ago ..

I havn't been submitting games to the meta because of this bug.. i could have been abusing the system... like i've also stated i've asked them to remone my lst 4 games as it was pointing out the flaw in the system... I can't do anything fairer than that... and don't appreciate people thinking and stating that i want to ruin the metaverse thankyou...

Okay. Okay. I apologise and will take you advice. Quit posting to the forum and quit submitting games.
