I actually don't care about ship design; the originals are fine by me. But how does one change the name, leader, and race portrait for all the originals.
I know about the RaceConfig.xml. I tried changing it in just there but although the unit portrait, for example, was changed in some places, in others it remained static, as did the name. I know that I also have to edit the MapRaceInfo.xml.
Does CustomPlanets.xml have to get changed as the Help with Modding Races implied... does anyone know of a tutorial or text file that explains how to do this all? The thing on Wikipedia was a little bit inadequent, I thought.
