Hi there.
I've been playing the game solidly since I got it a few days ago. Only problem with this is that it doesn't work on my PC (it can't read the memory, but I'm going to reformat, and see if it'll work then).
I don't know if this has been brought up already, but if it has, it's because it is a good idea. The system you have currently for trade routes is a bit poor. I built three freighters on one of my planets (under the custom race setting) sent them to a nice far away planet belonging to an AI species. But it would only allow one freighter to make the route link.
I would like to see this updated (or done this way for the next game) so that the trade is calculated on how many freighters are in the fleet (so having higher logistics will = more cash) and the tonnage (which means you can use the big/huge hulls (and the better your miniturisation) use more than one trade module per ship.
Also, just HOW do you protect the route? I've not figured that out yet.
And lastly, can someone who is better at the game than me tell me how the economy starbase actually works if you only want to use it to increase the monthly freighter rates. I've noticed that the computer always puts one as far away from the planet as possible, while still covering the square that the planet is on.. Is this what I should do, because I can never get this right, and end up wasting time doing so.
All in all, I would rate the game, on how I play, as 8 out of 10.
Is there any better ways to make HUGE amounts of money out of trade?
