Mostly this post will be about ship building and some ideas i have....
1) Im not sure if its already been discussed but, everytime I make a great ship and I want to make it better...
[say that i make a scout ship but im one week before developing and ion drive or lasers]
....i can't find a way to load the ship into the ship building screen and make changes, it would be majorly helpful if I could select the ship and incrementally upgrade it and not just upgrade to another ship class.....its terribly annoying to need a ship for a specific purpose and then have to spend another half hour to hour re-building the ship to add a blasted laser...lol
2) It would be really great if you could define classes of ships, such as "Frigate class" and view only frigates...kindof like having folders inside the game, instead of looking at "User, Core, and All" not griping or anything the builder itself is what makes me interested in this game most this is just my input.
3) A module that actually carries other vessels...like a fighter bay that houses your own fighters...
4) Being able to capture enemy vessels and employ the technology and designs into your own starports
5)A rating system, i know this would be dreadfully complicated but I would like to have a in game system that told me how well thought out the ships design was, such as in Armored Core, that way i would know (visually) how weak the ship was in certain areas and how strong it was in others [im not saying start ripping off other games but i think it would be a neat feature]
6)Maybe an option to remove outdated technology from the ship building screen (i keep asking myself why i would use an Ion drive if i have a Hyper Warp drive...which is faster and takes up less space thought it costs more) or maybe a way to sort by cost, size, and function (spead, power, defense, ect...)
7)I would like a way to dominate a civilization but not outright destroy it, the planets still in my control but you get like a research or manufacture bonus because you have all these new slaves to expend
8) A new government that was based on enslaving the galaxy, which got a manufacture or research bonus depending on how many worlds it has enslaved
9)A way to view the planets i control with more than just a birds eye view of them, i would like to be able to get down on the ground and zoom through the streets and see how evolved my civilizaiton is, or how pissed off my citizents are (IE tagging of the walls of buildings, bums sleeping in the streets, police "over-enforcing" the law....
10)The random cultural events having an effect on how my people view me (i know this happens already but what do they do? wait untill you tax them to revolt) i want to do something so terrible that my citizens become divided and start a civil war, slave revolts and to be completly overthrown and possibly even lose the game that way...i can set income spending to full and tax my citizens almost to death and what do they do? i lose half of my planets and all i have to do is invade....fun yes! realistic no...i want my unhappy citizens to revolt and come after me, to be a challenge to regain control, for a civil war to be as hard as it is fun....suddenly they revolt and the game calculates how far in technology i am ahead of the rest of the galaxy and the rebels don't instantly become retarded as soon as they revolt......that would make this game as close to perfection as possible....and once again im not putting this all on the programmers shoulders....if anyone else is reading this and agrees with me and can mod....do it man! or woman...lol but if im wrong and this is just stupid tell me...because as freaking great as this game is....the creator put one thing here that makes this game above the rest.....we all continue the story...which is what makes this game perfect....
So enough of that rant.....whadda think?
